Let me introduce myself. Prior to my current professional piscatorial pursuit, I spent 27 years in the Television Broadcast Industry, which concluded in 1992. Following much soul searching (about 30 seconds worth), and with a little jingle in my pocket, I decided to turn this opportunity and my passion for flyfishing, into a career.

To date I have chased Kamloops trout and the odd Bonefish with a fly rod for 43years, the last 7 as a full-time professional guide. I spend in excess of 180 days on the water every year.

I dabble at writing, a weekly flyfishing column, "Of Feathers & Fins", for the "Kamloops Daily News" and under the same by-line for a major outdoor web site "The BC Adventure Network" and Sea to Sky's Publications "The Interiors Outdoor Adventure Journal". I still play at television with a Micro series "Of Feathers & Fins" a 10 episode series on Stillwater Tactics. I am partners with and produce Brian Chan's instructional video series "Flyfishing Strategies for Stillwaters". I have recently co-authored a book titled "Flyfishing Small Lakes for Trout" with Kenneth Strand. I am also on the board of directors of the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association.

I do not and will not purport to be an expert. I have only known two flyfishers I would call experts, Jack Shaw and the late Heber Smith, pioneers in flyfishing for Kamloops trout. In flyfishing one should never stop learning, or typically being unceremoniously taught; by the fish we pursue, the invertebrates they pursue, and the weather that frequently pursues us! Being humbled on more than one occasion I think I have learned a little and have been blessed by a circle of quality fly-fisher pals who have taught me more than I could ever teach them. Thus armed, hopefully I can pass along to you, on the BC Adventure Network, some of these lessons learned as tips or how to's.

As a guide, Gordon has clientele of all experience levels, and particularly enjoys teaching the art of flyfishing to beginners.
